Vanessa

A Poem by
"

Blah. Haven't written poetry in a while. The style kind of mimicks E.E. Cummings, been reading him a lot lately in English.

"

Beauty is your name -

and you hold men

(as if) they.

                were scorpions,

s h a r p (and) quick : poisonous.

And women (with curves and the like)

As treats to be eaten

slowwwly

and with precision.

You admire their strength,

their weakness.

Humbleness is your name -

showing off your body

and saying you. Are not

enough.

drawing paintings (how contradicting)

of

webs that catch

your prey, the prey that you said:

“I do not want.”

desire is your name -

the kind the

     drives

                one

crazy,

dissolves their (insides) and

picks at

tiny

no

bod

ies.

Sadness is your name -

not being able

                / nor allowed;

to own just one

name.

Its always "Real" when you feel it...

Not a single thought on 'making' this anything... I just wanted to listen to you today. Good 'voice'

I know those webs and that unwanted prey. O how indigestible it proves more often than not. Great write because it made me think and wonder about myself.

This was different, I like the words you used to put in perspective on the traits of this woman you speak of (that's what I thought the poem was speaking of, let me know if I'm wrong).

You did well with the poem. Making Vanessa have life and spirit in your words. I like the set-up statements. Giving strength to the poem. A very good ending to a excellent poem.
