And On A Side Note, I Miss You

Oh, How I still love her so

And believe me, this she already knows

But as far as I’ve been willing to go

To hide it, it always shows

I love that rare, complete smile

That makes her skin really glow

It may last just a short while

But it’s enough to make my feelings grow

Oh, how cute when she wrinkles her nose

A laugh to light up her gray eyes

With her cheeks a soft, delicate rose

She could easily outdo the starry summer skies

And oh, I’ll always love her so

I can’t wait to see the angel again

But the time goes by so painfully slow

Even though I’ll always be just a friend

And I know how this story goes…

As easily as the tears flow

I love to see her happy

At least when she lets it show

She’ll never see that inside I’m dying

‘Cause that pretty smile’s not for me

And broken hearts hurt worse than broken bones

I’m living proof, a mess, distressed, with all my feelings in tow

Love is complicated matter. It really shouldn't be because it has the ability to bring enemies together as well as end conflict between nations, but the heart is such a delicate thing and it can be wounded so easily. Often I wonder what the point is to have emotions but they makes us "human" and set us apart from other life forms that operate like robots. Anyway this was very well penned.
