Bad Quality and Low Reception

Bad Quality and Low Reception

A Poem by
"

I've just been doing a lot of thinking. I was listening to classical music for inspiration, and Dramamine by Modest Mouse.

"
Why does my heart slow to the rhythm your fingers play
As they caress the black and white?
Why do I long so much to hear you say
Meaningless words to me each night?
Can you give me an answer?
Or is it too much to ask for?
Can we exist in the same world?
I can't listen anymore
The last sounds stumble out
But my lips do not cease to move
Is this what we are really about?
Forgive me if my words aren't so smooth
She lies awake in bed getting high off noise
But why does she?
To drown out the voices of the girls and the boys
She is me but
Who are we?
Why can't I ever once hear a song
Without thinking of you and singing along?
Can I breathe in my air
Without remembering
The scent of your hair
That's no longer there?
You are why I cry when I sing
But lately I'm to deep to care
Too deep in what? And where?
In black white and gray
It's just where I'll stay
The only answer I have to say
Is from you, silence is my only escape

I quite enjoy this poem. This is a perfect glimpse into the mind of a musing romantic artist. I love the rhyme, actually, and, honestly, at first, I thought I was going to be annoyed by it, since it seems very consistent. But it is a whimsical sort of rhyme actually, and really tickles my ears. This poem really makes me think. Even better, this poem TRULY makes me feel. I find myself really echoing the emotions that are in here; "Can we exist in the same world?/ I can't listen anymore" and "Why can't I ever once hear a song/ Without thinking of you and singing along?/ Can I breathe in my air / Without remembering/ The scent of your hair/ That's no longer there?" LOVE these lines!!

The last sounds stumble out and I cannot listen anymore.......but my lips will not stop moving. Why can't I ever once hear a song without wondering about us or thinking about you and find myself singing along. You are why I cry when I sing and I am in way too deep to care.............lovely silence is my only answer and escape. Wonderful piece! 100/100

sometimes less fills the mind even more fully... let the listener draw themselves INTO your thoughts... and obvious is not always repeatable. I followed your flow...and understood every pause and bite and even a space for unshed tears... and empty angry hands.

You have a 'way'... "bring it!"
