You

You

A Poem by
"

An ex boyfriend.

"

In a word?

Perfection.

The world is blind

   and spinning in circles,

slow to unwind

But never to halt

On    and    on

I just kept

running

   the wrong

way

Waiting for the light

of a brighter day

Lying next to you

  shrouded

    under self induced greed

Hovering

    in a cloud

Consumed with a hunger

  infinite,

    deep

Yet the world

     kept

     turning

Until you found me

      in wait

With my heart in the sky

      but my feet

     on the ground

Endless nights never

brought sounder sleep

Since the day

       I

met

you

When the world

     disappeared

       from beneath my feet

A dream,

      too perfect

Its hardly

a fantasy

I just keep going

   but not alone,

knowing

That love

  has no

    direction

In a word?

Perfection.
