Mon Coeur Est à Toi

Mon Coeur Est à Toi

A Poem by
"

Sorry if you don't understand the French parts, but I feel like it means more to say these things to him in his language.

"
Everything I do is done in your memory
For you have bettered me far better than any
Yes, those who have tried, they have tried plenty
But they don't stand out when I love you irrevocably

I wade backwards through a sea of fantasies
Swaying to the heat waves of when you danced with me
The lightest touch sets off a spark, igniting
Now that I've met you I'm finally shining

The moments we shared are the ones replayed most
To keep them alive and not fade into shadow
There's a part of my heart I never knew was so hollow
But the further you are, the closer I follow

It's a book to write that I'll never let end
Because I trusted you enough to let you get in
There's been an inner battle that you helped me to win
Taking that first step to let myself mend

My finest wine, mon cher, je t'adore
Another night sooner, another breath more
An imprint of that night, the sky's perfect form
In all that cold you gave me inner warmth

So foreign to me, accepting mes désirs
Finding someone else who shares the same fears
A voice that erases these past fifteen years
Searched for strength to face the face in the mirror

All the love I could ever hold rises up throughout my chest
Ignoring the part of me that knows letting go would be best
You're all that matters to me now, I've given up on the rest
In my life you are no guest, you're a permenant resident

Vous êtes absent de moi
Je ne comprends pas pourquoi.
Il n'ya pas de moi sans toi
Donc, ne jamais dire au revoir

Well, I always like to see what an author write in response to what I write, even if only a "thank you", but I could say that this is a beautiful poem, he;s a lucky dude, every line in the poem is designed to lead up to only the ending word and no farther than that until the next line resumes, and the pattern repeats itself, and the French part is the most darling of parts in this poem!! The last stanza is cute, but it also changes on a daily basis and yearly, even, as your age catches up with you in the latter years.... I Love ANY French poem. : ) xoxo -Mark

Altogether, this is a very lovely piece. The rhymes don't seem forced, and even the foreign words seem to flow extremely fluidly. Nice work!

I love that you included the french. It's interesting, make the reader feel that your feelings could only be explained this way. Very genuine.

A beautiful poem. I like the use of the french language to give the poem some extra flavor.
