One of my regrets

One of my regrets

A Poem by

I went fishing to the pond one day
and I happened to catch ,
a fish with a fiery reddish snout
and the fins to match.

I thought it nice to keep it pet
and put it in a bowl ,
I gave not thought that it might crave
for freedom in its soul.

The very next morn I went to see
how my new pet seemed to fare ,
but as I looked I could not find ,
the new fish was not there.

Then my sight fell on the floor
where it lifeless lay ,
and I picked it up with a heavy heart
and buried it far away .

I saw now my cruel deed
that yesterday I failed to see,
I felt now that it is sin
to bound that which is free .

Your words are true in this poem. To take freedom from a animal or life can make us sad when we see them died for the desire of freedom that is more important then the desire to be capture. A strong ending to a excellent poem.
