I did not lie

I did not lie

A Poem by

It rained over there in the woods this morning,
from a clear sky, I don't know how,
and I got drenched without a warning
as the wind shook every outstretched bough,

of the trees that stand so strong and tall
and I guess it was not the rain;
but dewdrops, that from leaves did fall
as the wind shook them again and again.

My shirt is wet and I am cold
and I know what my mom will say,
I am sure that she will scold
and say, 'you were very naughty today.'.

She won't believe me; even though,
I'll try hard to explain why,
only the morning grass; still wet; will know,
that I did not lie.

such a well written write here. Truthful really, found some powerful emotion in this. "I guess it was not the rain but dewdrops" I can sense a hint of a metaphor really. I enjoyed this.

Amazing!!! I liked the expressions used to give a new form of definition to the rain...

"of the trees that stand so strong and tall
and I guess it was not the rain;
but dewdrops, that from leaves did fall
as the wind shook them again and again."

really amazing... Wonderfully written....

Thanks for sharing....
