Chasing the horizon

Chasing the horizon

A Poem by

It was just another day.

I felt like going far away.

Where horizon kiss the sky,

on that line I fixed my eye.

I would walk, I made my mind,

until the horizon I'd find.

An endless game it was, to play,

for as I moved, it moved away.

Down a path footsteps had cut,

through fields , I reached a little hut,

an old man there asked my name,

who  I am ? From where I came?

I told him about my intention

and my distant destination.

Telling me to return, he smiled,

as if I was a little child.

I listened to the man that day

and turned back to go away.

The horizon that moved away, then,

started following me back again.

I also loved this one. I found it stimulating and clever. I liked word choice and flow. I always want the flow and beauty of the language to come first, and for the rhyme scheme to be secondary to that. And you did a wonderful job with that. Thank you!

I loved this. The way it's written, the concept the execution everything...how we follow a dream and when decide to stop and go back, the dream follows us, beckons us.. wonderful write.

Now as a dreamer lol.. I think all things are possible.. It's the blocks we hold inside of ourselves that stop us... :) Great write...xx

I liked the concept... "Taking a right decision is never late. But still sometimes we long to have never come back and thoughts makes us feel that may be that impossible could have been made possible."

But i felt that the last para could be little modified,

"I looked at the horizon that far lay
as I walked the home wards away,
the horizon that moved away then
started following me back again"

We chase that horizon forever, I like this poem because it reminds me that we keep chasing the impossible dream.
