While we were busy counting coins lost and gained, through all expenses, at the days' endings, worrying over the balance that remained, we planned wiser spendings.
All the while our wristwatches counted, with measured mechanical strokes of the second's hand, to what; the expenses of the coins of life; amounted, but we were too busy to understand.
Had we paid heed that this is something we cannot save and the balance is lesser at the days' endings, we would have been wise enough to plan, and brave, similar wiser spendings.
a twist of your tongue, a flick of the wrist, a wave of the magic wand, your watch is watching, counting? perhaps you should watch Stranger Than Fiction. i found this clever, and the repetition of the phrases "at the days endings" and "wiser spendings" added to the powerful message. nice work :)
I enjoy reading your works... and this is no exception. I think you have an excellent ability in taking different concepts, mixing different elements and tying them together in a smoothe and cohesive fashion. Your choices in wordings also seems to help the flow of the piece. Using personal experiences suits you well... if this is what many of these are. It seems to blossom with fresh and unique perspectives... I foresee many good works of words with this one.
