Daddys Little Girl

Daddys Little Girl

A Poem by
"

for those who lost their relationship with their dad.

"

when i look at him in the eye

I want to cry

I feel empty inside

He use to be the only man in my life

The highest place was ontop of my daddys shoulders

But now i'm older

Stories goodnight, my daddys love in the air

I wish those nights were still here

I'm the sparkle in my daddys eyes

But now the words I speak make him cry

I hate myself for what I have done

Best friends ... to Strangers

But he was the one who held my hand

And protected me from the worlds danger

With all of what my daddys done wrong, he did something right

Time with my daddy, like the wind, those precious years flew by.

And he whispered to me "Beautiful Butterfly, Spread your wings and fly"

As I say "I love you daddy, please don't cry."

This is what love is, he has to let me go

But I hope he remembers the precious times

When i was little

Every hug in the morning

Every kiss at night.

Very emotional and touching poem for a father, as I have daughters, too. This poem is expressed well and serves as a good reminder for fathers to never abandon the love of their children, despite the many huge problems and headaches in his life. Thanks for sharing this very good write.

WOW. This is all I can say. I have almost completely lost my relationship with my father and the first few line summarize whatI feel when I see him on those extremely rare occasions.
"when i look at him in the eye

He use to be the only man in my life
The highest place was ontop of my daddys shoulders
But now i'm older
Stories goodnight, my daddys love in the air

These lines are absolutely great!
