To All Of ThoseA Poem byTo all of those who read this godawful poem... thanks? To all of those who suffer And fair through unruly plights Maladies and painful days And cobalt empty nights Whose beds are made of streetlights Who serenade for dollar bills Who endure the heat drenched summer And the winter's everlasting chills To all of those who stand opposed To things that others cling to Like greed and warfare and necessity Or not being there when someone needs you To all of those who have seen the obsidian The coals mixed of fire and tears Who stoodthrough bloodshed came out unscathed And lived to learn from their fears To all of those who hear my words And think not of themselves But someone they met once in a passing glimpse And may or may not have helped To all of those who look on me now In kind or gentle state Who did nothing when I screamed for help And don't get now that it's much too late To all of those who have still coped Though life is unfair and untrue You are all so much stronger than me And my biggest thanks are to you
But to all of those who walk for welfare Even though their own is fine To all of those who are happily conjoined Two by two on a thin straight line To all of those who have trampled me And others of my kind To all of whom I serve the purpose of a welcome mat Who believe decent people are hard to find Well they're standing right below you And still they get ignored The scum of the Earth who have the tiniest problems And act like they mean the world To all of those who have made hearts broken Or left a knife between shoulderblades You will one day rule the Earth And this fact, sadly, will never change © 2010Author's Note
