Chapter Two: Avery/Nixon

Chapter Two: Avery/Nixon

A Chapter by

I first saw him at a store in Seattle. He was walking out, I was walking in. He held the door for me and smiled when I said “Thanks.”

He looked rocker, even a little dangerous. But I saw his eyes, and realized who he truly was. He was kind and funny; a kid lived inside him. You could see the child in his eyes.

He had black hair down to his ears, stick-straight, and covering part of his face. He had pushed part of it back. Black-framed, square glasses covered his face. His blue eyes sparkled. His lip was pierced with a ring, and tattoos covered his neck and he had a few on his hands and fingers.

I felt butterflies in my stomach when he smiled.

I can’t stop thinking about it; I can’t help but think if him.

I wonder if he thinks of me. Does he even remember me?

Does he live close to here? Oh, god, I hope so.

I wonder if he goes to school with me and I hadn’t even realized it.

                Who is this mysterious boy?

I                              I            I

I woke up from a dream. The girl in it was stunning. I remembered where I’d seen her that day, at the mall in Seattle.

I focused hard, trying to remember every perfect detail of her.

She had flamy hair, cut off at the middle of her neck. She had bright purple eyes, soft and kind. She wore a blue and white stripped, long-sleeved shirt and grey jeans.

She seemed so soft and fragile, underneath the looks. But she was more hard than soft. She had her ears triple pierced and she had a nose piercing. I saw the way she held herself, not afraid to back down, not afraid of a fight.

                Does she remember my face?

                I hope so.
