The Conqueror of Death

The Conqueror of Death

A Poem by
"

a verbal fight between two lovers, one dies and the other poisons herself to be with him.... romeo and juliet-y

"

We met once and long ago.

I look up now and shout, "Oh No!"

The words fight their way out of our mouths.

A verbal war between those who love.

As a symbol, one sends a dove.

But it's too late.

The other's wrapped in hate.

Waiting for an unforgivable date.

The blood shed of those she loves.

The tears shed for those she loved.

She finally receives the dove and let's it go.

Her amber eyes twinkle and she lies beside him.

She swallows the poison and

Wraps her hand around one of his.

She kisses his lips and says smiling,

"Death does not conquer me or you.

We'll be rejoined, of all, us two.

I love you. I hate you. I'll see you soon."

She leans back, relaxed, closing her eyes.

Smiling, she whispers, to her mother, goodbye.

Buried together for eternity at the young age.

My daze, I see is over, he whom I love.

Very Romeo and Juliet; pretty damn good for a beginning work.
