Can You Hear Them?

Can You Hear Them?

A Poem by
"

Oh, but can't you hear those less fortunate crying out?

"

Can You hear them?

The precious children of God.

Can You feel for them?

They are hurting with excruciating pain.

Sorrow fills their weak hearts.

Sadness evident on their expressions.

A broken, lost look glazed over their eyes.

They didn't ask for this life, nor did they ever want it.

They're calling Your name now,

Oh, Lord.

Will You hold them now?

Hold them in Your healing, scarred hands?

Your powerful, yet loving, arms?

Reach out to them,

With Your hands,

Your mercy.

Let Your power reign down on them.

Show them that they are not alone,

That You are here.

Here to fix them.

Here to hold them.

Here to provide them with shelter,

Food,

Water,

As much comfort as possible.

You fill them up, when they are empty.

You lift them up, when they are down.

Your love showers down on them,

With mighty power, no hesitance.

Can You hear them now?

They're calling out to You again.

That once sad, lost, broken family.

They are now happy, found and restored.

Their eyes gleam with happiness,

Their hearts, strong and beating once more.

Happiness radiates from them,

And it's all because of You.

Can You hear them?

Can You see them?

They're giving You praise,

They're lifting Your name.

They are better now, more alive than ever.

Their voices echo in unison, filling out amongst the world.

The whole world will now hear Your name being exalted.

They will taste once more,

Seeing and believing just as You want them to.

Can You hear them, dear Father?

Can You hear them?

They're calling to You once more.

Without a sense of hesitance.

They are Your children,

And now they know;

Wherever they will go,

You are bound to follow.

Can You hear them?

They're calling out Your name.

The very same name that has brought inner and outer peace and joy.

They are now lifting You high,

Your presence absolutely neigh.

But, can You hear them now?

The family that You once saw, is no more.

You have saved them, gave them everything they've always wanted.

You've taken away their pain, hurt, fears and negativity.

They're calling out to You again,

And, this time, they just want You to listen as their praises fill the sky.

You share with us the reality of the pain that is all around in our world, and yet give us the hope found in God... So powerfully vivid and so lifting! Thank you for focusing our eyes both below and above...

Children and healthy family lives are very important.
I think we all can hear this voice. I really felt the emotional content you invoked-- very moving work.

Sometimes we all need to open our eyes and hearts more, there is so much need in the world, this is heartbreakingly moving and stunningly haunting!
