What Became of Overwhelming

What Became of Overwhelming

A Poem by

Let our life drain and drain
until our souls pool the earth
in a magnificent flood
of luscious red.

And the lilies white
will float in numbers
charging their way
across the seas.

The heavens will open
pouring down stars
alive in passion.

The sun is not seen tonight.

Only fruity skies
and cotton clouds
to bathe the breezes of
chilled twilight.

There is a feeling

an emotion

here.

Thriving.

This wild thrill

we begged to live off

has lead our world

to its dying.

Author's Note

When I wrote this poem I had several ideas I was dealing with. It's the power of Love, the power of Rage and very strong forces that arise inside us creating changes in the world.

Note- The white lilly usually symbolizes the innocence of death.

We live in a world where few things I understand anymore. We sent young men and woman to war to learn death before they have learn life. They should be dancing in the street. We sent 200,000 Soldiers as a symbol of peace. Men with gun won't create friendship or love. Only fear and hate. Old countries who need to be left alone. Turn their hate toward busy bodies countries trying to control a world. Your poem goes in many directions. I believe we will know peace when the world understand. Sent food, water and medical teams to begin the healing. I like the ending to your poem. A excellent poem. You made me think again.

very nice!! you've enveloped the emotions of love and the wanting and parodied it with nature and it's wonders - the stars are falling etc. - wonderful imagery in this - I love the idea of lilies charging across the sea! nice!

Oooh, deep, with a very bittersweet aftertaste (which is a good thing). Sorry for being so repetitive, but it was awesome! It's so true that our emotions can change the world, and we can use them to destroy the world, or help it improve.
