Rational

Rational

A Poem by

Life is justified by the insane,

Mad people reaching out into

barren landscapes to

satisfy a thousand year's thirst.

"Delight yourself with an oasis, unabolished

by our presence."

Dried and dusty corpses surrender

the parched air, the heat.

Were there a wind,

such senses may arise- a real world.

Where you will reach out

for the sane

the irrational

the unknown.

Life is justified by the insane because the collective masses who comprises our society (assumed normal, everyday peoples) are actually the nutty ones. The one's who are looking in all the wrong places. The 'sane' are the ones deemed strange and out-there by the insane. Backwards. That's what I got out of this.

Sometime you may be consider irrational. But when you can the beauty of a open land. Where man had done little damage. The beauty is amazing. I been to the middle east and saw miles of empty land where nature is still in power. Want to see craziness. The night the animals roam the desert without fear and few enemies. A outstanding poem.

Personally, I think sanity is overrated. A little craziness is good for the soul.

As a life long desert rat, I believe you are writing of the inanity of vast expanses of lush green grass, spewing fountains and artifical lakes in the midst of the drought stricken desert landscape. It is unbelievably idiotic, but the newcomers want it to be as green here as it was where they came from. If you want lush greenery, move to the rainforest.
