Dear Heart of Darkness

Dear Heart of Darkness

A Poem by

Dear Heart of Darkness,

where do you reside

on this vast plaine,

spreading itself

like you spread your wings?

Those wings have feathers,

as dark as night

but they lit this soul

like stars lit the sky.

Dear Heart of Darkness,

how is it so

that I may feel this happy

when I am not suppose to?

Something about sadness is loud.

Dear Heart of Darkness,

why are there those

who hate and love hate

or hate love?

It is such a feeling

that love gives us.

Dear Heart of Darkness,

what would you do

if I were to take you back

to those your-days-of-rain

are my-days-of-shine

and overlap emotions.

Dear Heart of Darkness,

who will you choose

to live within you

so that you may become,

brighter?

Wow, I really love the meaning in this one. :D And I can see how it relates to the quote you gave. Makes terribly sad sense (not in a bad way, the quote is just sad)...

I really enjoyed the deep emotion you put into this.
It's dark and well stated.

This poem made me cringe of fear for a little bit, overall it was amazing though. ;)

How aptly you have described the insidiousness of sadness; how it can fill ourarts and souls blocking all other emotions. It is a choice we make..
A very light touch for a solemn subject. Excellent!

I really like this. the repetition of dear heart of darkness makes it stronger and more appealing. The flow of this is really good. and the imagery of this is quite vivid. seems like a love letter of the damned.
