A short little poem about the world of fantasy in ones mind.

"

Fantasy

A soft little melody that is a child’s own

It is their savior, it is their hero

A gentle wave of thought that stretches far into the unknown,

Bringing happiness, sadness, it sits on its little throne.

A story that grows in ones own mind

Written on paper, even, so very divine

Dragons and fairies or flight of mankind

It is fantasy dearest and it is undefined.

Princesses and wizards with their amazing feats

Fair and mysterious, powerful too

They are created so that they cannot be beat

It is fairytale or fantasy, isn’t it so very sweet?

Fantasy world is where a child will escape

Let their mind wander

If shown to others, mankind will gape

Its complete beauty, imagination formed to its very own shape.

With the power to blind

It is ones own little thought

Forever unique, one of a kind

It is fantasy dearest and it is undefined.

I love this line: "It is fantasy dearest and it is undefined," and I love that it was repeated at the end. I feel like it tied the piece together. And of course, it describes my childhood fantasies almost perfectly.
