Bitter Joy

Bitter Joy

A Poem by
"

A little poem about a broken heart that is forced to keep beating despite all the pain.

"

My life is void of laughter

I’m in love but I have no lover

I yearn for a warm caress

I write love letters with no address

My heart suspends by a string

It moves like a living thing

But a fact to you unknown

It died long ago all alone

So soon after it was born

With nobody there to mourn

You’ve never understood

That it was made of wood

Come on don’t be coy

Behold the bitter joy

Of being the living dead

There’s nothing to be said

I cannot feel the pain

My heart won’t beat again

I do not have a heart

For you to rip apart

You cannot hurt me more

And that’s worth dying for

I adore the dual see saw play on words~ the theme is something I do believe most of us who've given everything and been crushed for it can relate to deeply and intimately~

Good start! It could definitely use some work..but it is good.

"There's nothing to be felt
No more flame to melt" - what can/could the flame melt before? I know you can work it out, especially with a title like this.
