Enemy's Bed

Enemy's Bed

A Poem by

it's time to lay down our arms

and lay down your head

please don't be alarmed

but you've been sleeping in the enemy's bed

for far too long

and you're far to gone

to care about

a poor man's song

so give me life

and give me hope

and tie a knoose

in this shortened rope

because life is hardest when you're alone

but it's even harder when that's unknown

it's this life to live, you don't get another

so lay down your weapons, enjoy your lover

tonight's the night

to see you again

but here you are,

with your new man

couldn't wait a moment

couldn't wait a day

to turn your back

and to betray

because life is hardest when you're alone

but it's even harder when that's unknown

it's this life to live, you don't get another

so lay down your weapons, enjoy your lover

the worst weapon's your own

you can't deny the truth in that

so rip out your heart

and stab your friend's back

at this time

in this place

it's all the rage

boys and girls are doing it

every single day

it's this life to live, you don't get anotehr so lay down your weapons-

because life is hardest when you're alone

but it's even harder when that's unknown

it's this life to live, you don't get another

so lay down your heart, and kill all your lovers
