Folding Papers

Folding Papers

A Poem by

Paper boats trailing through the water

My hair blowing in the wind

Since you were there I went farther

Because with you I know I'll never sink, just swim.

Paper planes flying through the air

Your smile gleaming in the sunlight

Since you were there I went farther

Because with you I know I'll always be in flight.

Paper hearts beating faster and faster

Our hands swinging by our thighs

Since you were there I went farther

Because I feel safe with you by my side.

Paper weaknesses showing more and more

The rips and holes opening faster and tearing larger

Because it's you, I'll never grow bored

Since you are here I go farther and farther.
