Don't BlinkA Poem by
So young and innocent,
pushing a stroller into which I've shoved my stuffed lamb. *blink* I hit the ball as hard as i can, And my little legs run around the bases. *blink* My voice carries out over the crowd as i give my speech at the D.A.R.E. graduation. *blink* I'm running and running I've gone so far! All in this first week of cross country. *blink* I played my best, and we all did so well! I bet we get a one, at state marching band. *blink* Everything's so new, the old is gone. I don't even know this person who I'm living with. *blink* My mother's crying but i'm so happy yet so scarred to go into the real world. *blink* All in white surrounded by flowers and sunshine I'm so happy today to say I do. *blink* I hold her so tenderly safe in my arms I love this little girl My presious child. *blink* She looks so grown up as she crosses that stage and I swallow back tears of pride. *blink* Our nest is empty so now we wait for her to bring the grandkids over to play. *blink* Tears streak my face dodging the wrinkles as i watch my husband's casket be lowered into the ground. *blink* My time has come and gone, i hear my granddaughter ask "Is Grandma going home today?" "I think she's alreay there." *blink* © 2010Reviews
