We sit there,
You and I.
We’ve sat there for ages,
We’ve sat there forever.
It feels like we’ve spent our
Whole lives there.
We watch the sun setting,
Escaping down over the horizon,
The sky red with blood,
The stars beginning to glitter beyond the veil.
Light fading,
Disappearing,
Replaced by a shroud of violet darkness,
A cloak that extends over us.
We fall back,
Laying there on the grass.
We stare up at the stars,
The glittering sunset fading away.
I look at you.
And you look at me.
Our fingers clasped so tight,
The light fading with the sunset.
And we fade away with it.
Fading away.
