Confusion

Confusion

A Poem by
"

A small soldier dedicated piece.

"

Where the sea meets the vast land

We put our boots into the hot wet sand

Standing tall I carry this big old gun

In my book this really ain't no fun

My orders once were loud and clear

Not anymore, so now I must sit here in fear

Confusion

I try to keep my head held high

Yet I sit by this tank and let out a sigh

I bleed every day in these worn out clothes

Not bad enough to make me give up and fold

Who are you here, standing by yourself?

You can't be here, stay low, and go get help!

Confusion

I have proven myself before time and time

I felt I was in already my outmost prime

I froze on top of that bloody broken freeway

And watched as my best friend was sadly blown away

Another young man who lost all of his future

My enemy is no man, he's a god damn creature

Confusion

And so now I walk down this familiar way

To my hometown were I used to go out and play

No marching bands or good people to see us or greet us

Lonely is this town, as we ride this old rusty bus

Makes me kind of mad, I did all this for you

Yet you turn away, what else must we prove?

Confusion

Taps begins to play outside this cathedral

It's a sad story, and I hope there's no sequel

He was the friend we all want to have

There for you always, walking the same path

"Every war's a civil war because all men are brothers"

Put the guns and rockets down and think about your mothers

I must say a very impressive write. Written so perfect. Excellent rhyme and wonderful rhythm. I can believe a lot of soldiers feel that way, confusion. I what you say at the ending, every war's a civil war because all men are brothers. I really love this.

A powerful poem. No winner in War. Soldiers understand other soldiers problems. I heard Taps too many times myself for good friends. I miss everyday of my life. A excellent and powerful poem. Need to remember the Soldiers are still in danger way. Thank you for your service.

Superb write. What a wonderful piece about our soldiers and what they go through. This is very sympathetic to the pain and horror they suffer that never comes through when you see the fighting on the TV news.
