Fire

Fire

A Poem by

 A young woman sits

and regresses one day

about all the words

that her mother did say

The phrase that came to mind

was one of stout and simple grace

"Dont play with fire, for you shall get burned"

But alas, through all the I knows

and the ok's given from her childish heart

She goes and finds a fire

and plays in it one day

Without her even knowing

her hearts been set aflame

The once calm fire, has consumed her whole being

Without warning without look

she was caught in a spell

one night not long after that

her poor heart was given a chill

The fire had burned her

Oh, it left such a mark!

A slap in the face, couldnt have hit harder

and the more she ignored, the worse it became

So she went home that night

sang sad songs, and felt slight

as she thought to herself,'

"should have listened to mother."
