Bound By Blood Chapter 4A Chapter byChapter Four
Lauren’s jaw dropped in shock, she backed away from the bed, grabbing an unconscious Roxanne under the arms and dragging her along.
Lara stood on the ceiling, her eyes silver nitrate while two malicious fangs peaked from her top lip; her smirk sent cold chills through Lauren,
“It’s not possible,” Lauren whispered, disbelievingly.
Lara’s smirk widened as she fell from the ceiling, landing smack on her feet with unnatural catlike grace.
“Not probable, little sister?” Lara sat down on the bed calmly, regarding the pale vampire with amused eyes.
“I…I remember…he took you…what…who…” Lauren was speechless; it had been over eleven years…eleven long years…and here was her sister, at least eighteen years old with a wicked smirk on her face. It did not add up.
“You remember me being kidnapped by Darius, is that right?” Lara asked pleasantly, reclining against the plush pillows of Roxanne’s bed, her eyes glinting.
“Yeah…” Lauren replied, setting Roxanne down gently, swallowing thickly.
“A lot happened after that, Darius took me to his mansion in Silivity; I have lived there ever since. The only thing he ever did to me was siring me; I see he sired you as well,” Lara muttered. Lauren was beginning to shake, years of fury and emotion showing in her eyes.
“You have…lived with…with that monster for eleven years…you willingly lived in his house…after what he did?” Lauren hissed, not wanting to disturb Roxanne’s parents downstairs. Lara smiled grimly.
“Don’t worry about disturbing Roxanne’s parents, they won’t be hearing much anymore.”
Lauren’s mouth went dry, her eyes going liquid silver.
“You…you…”
“Killed them, yes, I did,” Lara rose, lifting a gloved hand making Lauren hover above the ground, “you see, I had no choice. Immortals are not meant to live with mortals. Roxanne knows about you now Lauren, you have no choice. Either you sire her, or kill her. No mortal, save for the ones that need to know, can know about us.”
Lauren’s fangs were drawing out, unconsciously.
“No! I can’t! Not yet!”
Lara smirked coldly.
“So human, Darius would be ashamed,” Lara clicked her tongue disapprovingly. In the back of Lara’s mind disgust flared like a flame, she hated Darius, but she had a role to play. Otherwise, there were consequences to pay.
“I hate you…” Lauren spat, her fists curling into tight, trembling balls.
“I love you too sis. Now sire her, under Darius’ command, you have no choice. Otherwise I will kill her myself,” Lara snapped. Lauren knelt beside Roxanne, tears falling from her eyes.
“Give me a moment will you?” Lauren growled. Lara scowled impatiently, sinking back onto the bed, filing her nails.
“Roxanne…I know you know nothing about me…” her voice choked, “you have to trust me now, we have to be there for each other. Please forgive me, I have no choice,” Lauren whispered. Roxanne groaned softly, her eyes moving beneath the lids as she struggled for consciousness.
“Laur…” Roxanne breathed out softly, her head pulsing as the light pierced her eyes making her wince in pain.
“I’m here,” Lauren replied gently, helping the sluggish girl into a sitting position, tears continued to fall down her face.
Roxanne gasped suddenly, moving away from Lauren, her face pale.
“Who are you?!” she pointed at Lara, her voice unwavering as she fought for confidence. Lara smirked as she rose, bowing mockingly.
“Lara Goodrich.”
Roxanne’s brows furrowed at once, her heart hammered in her chest,
“Wait…Lauren…?”
Lauren nodded heavily, her eyes dark.
“She is my sister Roxanne.”
The confusion on Roxanne’s face was a pain to see, Lara rolled her eyes impatiently.
“Alright, I can’t take this anymore.”
Roxanne suddenly felt herself lift into the air; terror gripped her insides as she was slammed against the wall.
“Lara! NO!” Lauren stepped in front of Lara, angry tears spilling from her dark silver eyes.
Roxanne whimpered softly, she was so confused. Why were their eyes glowing? What was going on?
“Lauren…” Roxanne asked softly, her words crushing Lauren’s heart into a million pieces. Lara threw up her hands and whipped her dark cloak around her impatiently.
“I am giving you ten minutes Lauren, no more than that understood?”
Lauren sneered at the vampire and moved up to Roxanne, her eyes still glinting silver.
“Trust me. Please.”
Roxanne did not know how to react; her body was cold with fear as fangs the size of daggers drew from Lauren’s gums.
Lara clapped as Lauren bit into Roxanne’s throat.
“Thank God! I did not think you would ever do it! Now I can leave, cheerio little vampires!” Lara cackled wickedly before disappearing with a snap of her cloak.
The storm continued to roar outside the window, lightning crackled with thunder’s growling response. Roxanne went limp in Lauren’s arms, weakened from the blood loss, her head spun violently while her heartbeat dulled in her chest, beat by beat it was dying.
“Lauren…” Roxanne gasped, her eyes flaring wide, as she struggled to stay alive, “I trust you…” Lauren sobbed as Roxanne’s body went rigid, cold and still.
Lauren looked down at Roxanne, her eyes swimming with so much pain, so much emotion, it could have made even the coldest of men cry. Roxanne’s eyelids began to twitch, fangs erupted from her gums and her body shot up, revived.
Lauren shuffled back, guilt tearing her apart as Roxanne’s eyes went wide when her fangs pierced her bottom lip, when her heartbeat stopped and then started up again, pumping blood.
“Roxanne…you are now one of the Undead,” Lauren said quietly, not looking into Roxanne’s eyes.
Roxanne was still shaking as she found the bite marks on her throat along with the dried blood her bottom lip trembled emotionally. She backed away into the corner and wrapper her arms around her legs.
“Why?”
“Because you can’t escape the inevitable.”
