Detention

Detention

A Poem by
"

Detention During my school days.

"
Friday afternoon, the grandfather clock strikes one-fifteen,
'School out! School out!' The bell screams.
Pre-adults race out rushing for their teams,
to catch up on the latest news that's in.

Friday afternoon, everyone rushing out.
Uniforms here, uniforms there.
Few minutes ago everything seemed whist(quiet)
but now its a circus fare!

Friday afternoon, detention proceeds.
Names ticked off, as students suffer their misfortune.
Spelling's practiced as pages turn.
Fingers hurt while silence gnaws timidly.

The day we've been waiting for: friday it is,
but blowing happiness away, detention progresses
