From the HeartA Poem by CassandraWhen a love one leaves this earth, anger remains. This poem expresses the anger, love and sheer hurt of losing someone you were supposed to be spending eternity with. From the Heart
My heart beats swiftly, yet it beats alone. It tangles and twists painfully, yearning for its home.
My heart had found yours, through fate or by chance. I didn't give it away freely, it was stolen by romance.
and my wound is open and fresh. My heart is nothing to you, but a cold, damaged piece of flesh.
but you don't seem to care. I walk without you by my side, and this is my cross to bear.
but you won't answer a word. You lie stiffly in your wooden box, and my words remain unheard.
and I take it you won't be saying goodbye. I don't think I can utter the words myself, for fear I'll breakdown and cry.
or that of my shattered heart, I'll never forget the time we shared. Therefore, we will never truly be kept apart. © 2013 Cassandra |
