Takes My Breath Away

For someone I love more then anything

 I wish I could read your mind 

Hear your thoughts
And understand 
I am in the dark
Walking blind 
Trying to see

My heart is still beating 
In some sporadic pattern
Missing company
Lonely dreams
Sending me though
A fantasy

I don't understand 
The things you do
The words you say
The misery 
And mystery
Takes my breath away

At first I was thinking this poem was gonna be some tribute to the '80's song by Berlin from the movie "Top Gun", but was I very much mistaken and for that you have my apologies. This was a fantastic piece of poetry that is from the heart and its hypnotic and to stop reading is to stop loving poetry in the first place. This is a great piece and one I feel fortunate to have read.

Wow, the emotion, the love you feel for this person is all out there. Whoever this person is must be very special to you and you can see that. Love is tricky and you capture everything about love in hear, I enjoyed reading this a lot. Great write!
