Sea Of Tranquility

Sea Of Tranquility

A Poem by John McDonald

It's cold up here in space
So frigid in this celestial abyss
I think I may not last long
My blood fast becoming ice

But from here I can see

The world; our Earth
From here it is a gem
This great beauty I now see

Will make far better a memory

Than those I have of home

So on my perch otop this rock
I rewrite our reality

Old painful thoughts I erase

With pleasant lies taking their place

I close my eyes

Resting in peace

Slipping ever so slowly

Into eternity

I wasn't the first man
To set foot on the moon
But I'll be the first boy
To die here
