Dogma?

Dogma?

A Poem by John McDonald
"

A friend told me that she knew that no god existed. I thought that was a foolish thought, as we never will know until we die, and perhaps not even then. I'm not narrowing this down to any one religion.

"

There is no god she said . . .

And how do you know I countered.

Well I just don't believe she said . . .

And this is what I thought:

I believe that there is power in belief

That perhaps with just a little faith

We can actually create

But I see nothing in doubt, in disbelief

It's seems to not be negative, just neutral

Powerless, as non-existant as it's opinions and hopes

Besides it's not like disbelieving in a bullet

Will make its impact any less life shattering

I'm not going to touch it and butcher it. I ain't gonna like everything I write. But I guess it's fine as it is.
