Spit it OutA Poem by WordsFromAPenThe hardest time I've ever had trying to tell someone...
Tis midnight when my words will send
Though text seems coy and cheap But to say the words, it's impossible For my lips seem to fall asleep I scream it at the top of my thoughts As you lay here by my side Though I understand you're deaf to it As my mouth will not let it slide I kick myself and argue too How hard can it really be I've said it to many a man and beast As simple as making a cuppa tea But with you, it's always different I'm not sure how you see me I'm scared to lose you yet again To someone much less worthy I cannot find the bravery To lay it upon my tongue I'm ever afraid of the consequence Though it's destined since we were young So alas I did not send the words Now New Years Eve has passed So here I am in search of solution Resorting to poetry as my last We've not been out for food or films Nor drinks, adventure or style But somehow time loops us back And it's you that makes me smile So here it goes This will have to do My last attempt to say I love you © 2022 WordsFromAPen |
