EndlessA Poem by WordsFromAPen
Laying in the dark
Goosebumps map my skin, Body tense and sore; Stomachs pit keeps sinking. Throat filled with sand, Tongue and lips dry, Fearing another war That shakes me to the core. Words expressed the same; Same pitch, same tone, Same power trip game, Still strong enough to cripple my brain. Emotions are blurred Triggers are high I'm left on my own With nowhere to hide. I thought the one who birthed Was the one who loved Unconditionally so But apparently not. I fear the cough That indicates a breath Before words are expressed And the emotions are stressed. Living on the edge, Tripwire in my way I think perhaps a long fall Could end this longing pain. Never felt quite as broken, Nor as ready for death, As when I realise it's been Over a decade of stress. You'd think I'd get up and run Do myself a favour and leave But I'm a stupid idiot really For I live in hope you see. © 2020 WordsFromAPenFeatured Review
