The Darkness

The Darkness

A Poem by WordsAndVoices

I'm dreaming,

I have to be,

For what reality is this?

Just blackness, darkness, every step,

The endless screaming,

No faces to the melancholy cry.

The haunting footsteps making their way towards you,

But you can't see anything,

The frozen hand creeping up your neck,

But there's just black.

The sharp, piercing pain coursing through your body,

As you strave to stay still,

Try to stay alive,

But there's no light,

It's just darkness.
