Gone

Gone

A Poem by WordsAndVoices
"

This is in memory of my darling, caring mother. May she rest in peace.

"

I was away that day, the day they told me,

Happy, I was,

A feeling that is long gone now,

Just like her.

I knew it was coming, we had for ages,

But I thought I'd be beside her,

Holding her hand as she drifted to sleep.

I thought there would be angels,

Carrying her away,

Now I wonder how they could be real,

If they let her die this way.

They said, I'm sorry, we're sorry,

Here at the hospital,

Then they hung up,

And left me sitting there,

A shadow of a smile left on my face,

The world crashing around me.

We cried, there was crying,

But what good is it to you,

You lived your life fighting,

But lost.

Loss creates feelings of sadness, thrusts a void right smack in the middle of our life, and we often feel like victims! You have expressed these emotions in a way that is memorable, and quite touching!

good writing , but i would say that it needed to be more flowy, and more words that describe the agony and pain. The life of a fighter. all in all it was good!
