Nobody's First

Nobody's First

A Poem by Elizabeth Reed

I'm nobody's first and I never will be
I'm not first to them and I'm not first to me
They all changed their minds, they switched me to last
There was no warning, it happened so fast
We used to be friends, at least I hope it was real
The good times that we had, it wont change how I feel
You pushed me aside for someone else, someone new
So now all I have to say- Is forget me? Forget you

I think everyone has felt this way at some point. And I love when people write something that is so universal, yet speaks to every individual in a unique way, because not two people are alike in their emotions and reactions to heartbreak.

There's a quote that I really love: "Someday, someone will come along and make me realize why it's never worked out with anyone else". I like to remember this quote when my heart gets broken...It helps me move onward.

Raw and real... it hurts when we feel like we are easy to be replaced... nice venting of emotions.

Managing to display emotion while still holding a little back. A good read that makes you question who your true friends really are. It picks up rhythm sometimes and then drops it. Otherwise very well written
