"Elvis and Me"

There once were two twin babies

Parents Vernon and Gladys Presley

One lived his name was Elvis

Sadly one died his name was Jessie

Elvis grew up in a tiny house

Raised up a godly only child

Sang gospel, pop and country music

When people heard him they smiled

Influenced by black rock and roll

He developed a style like no other

Such respect for his father but

Oh! How he loved his mother

His songs made my young heart glow

Collected everyone I could

With all his sexy gyrations

He was really misunderstood

So diverse, he broke all barriers

A new era of music was born, but scorned

The films, record breaking sales

Grammy Awards he was adorned

Named and outstanding young man

An honor he greatly deserved

Without any special privileges

In the Army with honor he served

My granny took me to see his movie

Just knew I'd never be the same

With his good looks and charisma

Wanted to make "Presley" my last name

Oh! How he loved the Islands

To Hawaiians he gave so much

I saw his last satellite concert live

So close but I could not touch

Oh Wow! He raised the roof

When he sang "How Great Thou Art"

Never will I forget the time

The words went straight to my heart

In Memphis he left us at Graceland

How sad we were that day he died

I and everyone in the world

Just cried, cried and cried
