"Shake Your Tail Feathers"

Well! I just can't believe my eyes

It's a blast from the past

I made these earrings ages ago

They are back "IN" at last

 

I never did pull out feathers

Didn't give the bird a mean jolt

It's natural and totally painless

During his normal yearly molt

 

My love for all God's Parrots

With beautiful colors all around

After years of cleaning cages
Feathers fall upon the ground

It was like a feather rainbow

A memory I never will forget

I picked up each feather treasure

Oh! How I love this priceless pet

 

I would always say "pretty feathers"

Guess the birds heard it many times

They often said it back to me

When I had to wash off the slime

 

So now I'll dig out all the feathers

Many boxes are stacked real tall

Make one of a kind jewelry

It's really God's creation after all

I myself had a bird I loved for thirteen years, a cockatiel named P.J. This brought back bitter sweet memories of him.
