Chapter 1

Enipsis's story begins

Enipsis awoke to a loud horn that rang through her body. She threw the old smelling sheet covering her off to the side of her and rubbed her eyes. She looked around to see a bunch of men also awaking from their bed and standing up right beside their beds. She quickly imitates them stand up strait near her bed. She hears the clatter of iron boots hitting wood as a man walks into the room full of soldiers. He looks around at everyone locking eyes with Enipsis before shouting. "Alright men head to the mess hall for breakfast and meet in the courtyard for morning routines by 700 hours!" Everyone responds with a "Yes sir" and salute. 

After the man exited the soldiers all started to head out the room and Enipsis followed. Walking in the crowd was unusual for her, usually avoiding large groups of people on her travels. She over heard her name come out of a soldiers mouth while walking and started to concentrate her hearing on his voice. "A woman among the ranks of the army, that's outrageous." Enipsis started to feel her blood boil slowly and tried to calm herself down. "Hah a woman, can't wait to show her my sword." A man said to another and started laughing. Enipsis felt the blood lust start creeping into her head slowly and started moving faster through the crowd towards the mess hall. Then she felt someone grope her, and she turned around to see a man smiling at her menacingly. He looks at her with one brow raised, " Sorry sweetheart it was an accident" the man said sarcastically.

 Enipsis felt her head to blank and her hand flew through the air landing on the mans nose. A loud crack was sent through the crowd and soldiers turned to look at what was going on. The soldier dropped to the ground grabbing his nose yelling. He looked up at Enipsis who was about to send another fist aimed at him. He dodged and kicked her leg making her lose balance. She quickly recovered and tackled the man to the ground. Sitting on his chest she sent a barrage of blows towards the man. The mans friend tackled her off and started to punch her. Enipsis tried to shove the man off but he had planted himself firmly a I've her. She felt a sock of pain in her chest which knocked the air out her lungs. A large man grabbed the soldier off Enipsis who she recognized as Captain Gantz. She coughed and felt blood dripping from her mouth down her cheek. Everything started to go dark and she closed her eyes.

 She awoke finding herself laying on a rough bed. She tried to sit up bed felt a sharp pain in her abdomen. She looked down at herself to see her chest bandaged and remembered what had happened. Her whole body ached with pain as she lay motionless on the bed. An anger filled her and she felt her body start trembling. Tears started to roll down her bruised face in a way of funneling this anger. Her anger slowly turned in sadness and she lay there crying. She heard iron boots and the sound of chain mail enter the room. "Two days and you managed to break an officers arm, a privates nose, fracture three of your ribs and your nose before breakfast'" said a hard raspy voice. She recognized it as Captain Gantz voice. He walked up to her and looked at her and said, "Why are you crying, are you not a soldier? I heard what happened you are soldiers and as I told you, no special treatment. So recover and see me then," he turned and walked out. Enipsis laid on the bed looking into the ceiling for a brief second before closing back her eyes.
