Lost & FoundA Poem by WooddawgAnother breath I take, alive to face another day Soar like an eagle to a place that ain't so grey. And I've come to realize they'll all try and bring you down But you can kiss my a*s if you try and steal my crown.
I let you win a few but I ain't as stupid as I look And don't forget I let you have everything you thought you took. I ain't out, I never was, on this life I'll leave my mark No more wasting time on you, slip the shifter out of park.
Kiss the f*****g rings, A bigger man even at my worst I haven't got the time, save your lines so well rehearsed. I may be right, I may be wrong but at least I tried to understand Sympathies got in the way, but now I'll take a stand.
Yeah I've made mistakes, Kindness is naieve and genius isn't neat And yeah you left a scar but I'm still standing on my own two feet. A little older, a little wiser, you won't be kicking this heart around A reunion of myselves down at the lost and found.
A train once derailed is now back up on the tracks The hunger's back, all or nothing, no more setteling for a snack. And despite the pain, I don't regret the way the things I've done And I'll defeat what's in my way, and I don't need my fists or a gun. © 2011 Wooddawg |
