The Mirror Deep

The Mirror Deep

A Poem by Wooddawg

I am the shadow

that stalks you late at night

I am the wind

that alters your path of flight.

I am the anwser

yet, the one you question

I am the medicine

yet, the virus causing congestion.

I am your fear

the one you can't look in the eyes

I am your weakness

I'm the one that you despise.

I am the reason

your knuckles turn white

I'm not the enemy

yet so often I am who you fight.

I am the chill

that shudders down your spine

I am your balance

just as you are mine.
