Fossil

Fossil

A Poem by Wooddawg

I've accepted its the end to a friend
of a more than a friend
although motionless I continue to remain...
Shackless Shackles keeping me in place,
disgrace holding mirrors to my face.

I realize it's the way it had to be
yet feelings of guilt haunt the s**t out of me.
Undecided debates, with me what is wrong?
Question thy self, pick apart thy crown.

It's becoming crowded in here,
how do you find yourself,
when you've forgotten who you are?

It's getting uncomfortable in this skin
Calgone take me away!
It's safer in this shell
Hesitate to try again.

So many cookie jars
too high of a shelf,
afraid I'll waste their time.
