Anxiety

‘Just breathe’ they say
If only it were that easy
‘Don’t worry about it’
If only it were that easy
I’m not being ridiculous
Nor dramatic
I’m constantly being attacked
by my own mind
It may sound irrational to you
But it’s real to me
“You’ll be fine”
That isn’t going to help!
It’s not something I can ‘get over’
It’s uncontrollable
It’s not a choice
Anxiety choose me
