Cruel

Cruel

A Poem by Silent Wolf
"

To raise awareness.

"
April 20th, 1999.
They were sitting there, doing their class work,
When the gunman came in to columbine high school.
They didn't do anything wrong, they died innocent.
And they watched their friends and peers die with them.

July 20th, 2012.
They sat in the dark, watching "The Dark Knight Rises."
When the guman came into the aurora theatre.
They didn't do anything wrong, they died innocent.
And they watched family and friends die with them.

December 14th, 2012.
They were so young, sitting doing their schoolwork.
When the gunman came into sandy hook elementary school.
They didn't do anything wrong, they died young and innocent.
And they watched their friends and peers die with them.

September 7th, 2013
And I'm sitting here wondering in the dark,
Where will the gunman attack next?
They didn't do anything wrong, they died innocent.
And we watched our friends and peers and strangers die.

Author's Note

Silent Wolf
So, if you didn't know, there have been three major shootings that I know of in Colorado, and I wanted to just kind of put them out there for people to know. I am honestly wondering, who are gunmen planning on attacking next?

We just had a shooting here in Spring,TX right outside of Houston at a middle school which scares me to death because I have 6 children, 5 of which are still in school. I remember all of the incidents you wrote about vividly and it saddens me. What has the world come to?
We all need the reminders, no matter how heart wrenching they may be.
Gone but not forgotten.

I have a confession to make. I put serious thought into taking my dads gun and shooting everyone who made fun of me. I wanted them to all pay for how they made me feel. They deserve to die. They say that I am the waste of space that needs to die but all they do is bring everyone down while i am trying to make something of my life. What stopped me from shooting up the school was my friend-who i am no longer friends with-i didn't want to hit her and be her killer. I wouldn't be able to live knowing that i killed her because I had to get even. I even had everything planned out to a t but there were to many things that I didn't know that could go wrong.

If somebody shares something like me, then I feel like I should share what I think as well.
It's great of you to write about this because many people are scared to. It has to be put into words though...just as you have done.

Alright try now.
Cannot allow fear to overtake us. The schools had increase security and pay better attention. My daughter school caught a boy planning a attack. I believe we need to listen to kids who are in trouble. Better to stop a attack than to be in one. Thank you for the powerful poem. Our schools need to be safe places.

Wow this is just so emotional and kind of frightening.it opens up your eyes to the reality that you have no idea where a gunman will strike next.and all those innocent children...

Keeping the memory of these tragic events keeps them in the forefront of discussion so that we can prevent them from happening in the future. There are some things that should never be forgotten.

This is the sort of work that reminds most of us we may need to take that step from keeping mad men and nut jobs from spreading damage. I took this as a call to the average man, who needs to make that choice, protect or hide?

I'm no stranger to seeing someone put down in a shoot out, California SF aint all movie stars and sunshine.
