Ditch

A Chapter by Silent Wolf

8/16/13-8/17/13

It was my first day of my sophomore year at high school, and I couldn't remember my schedule. I had easily made it to my first two classes, but I couldn't remember what they were. I think my third period was art class, but I'm not sure.

I walk down towards the art hallway, the light filtering in through the windows, and come to a hallway. Sadly, it's not the art hallway, so I turn and walk back, then go down another hallway. I look around and see rooms, but no art rooms.

Finally, I give up and walk back to my locker on the other side of the school, but stop halfway when I see him leaning up against the wall. He smiles at me, his name Dustin. He was the rebel with a twin brother named Austin, but he didn't look it. I sat down next to him in front of my locker and began unpacking my things, letting him help me.

The bell rang, signaling that class had started, but I wasn't going, instead sitting here in the middle of the hallway with him. What was I doing? Within a few minutes, all my stuff was in a pile around us, both of us sitting in an empty classroom and snacking on some of the candy we found in my bag, smiling and talking about memories and things. The bell rang again, signaling that class had ended,

We didn't bother to move, instead continued to snack and talk. The bell rang signaling that fourth period had began, but I didn't move. Halfway through my cellphone vibrated, and somehow I knew it was my best friend, Sarah, asking where I was. I smiled and grabbed his hand as I headed off to my government class.
