The World Placed Over Your Eyes

The World Placed Over Your Eyes

A Poem by David Lewis

The matrix has you in its grip,
Follow the rabbit and let us go for a trip.
This world is a veil pulled over your eyes,
To blind you for where you body really lies.

What you sense is not real,
Even the hair on your head which you currently feel.
Beware of the agents lurking in the mist,
For they come in the form of any person on this list.

You say you want to know more,
Then come with me to the highest floor.
There my crew will be waiting,
As I pose a question which you will wind up debating.

The blue pill will put you back to sleep,
And the red pill will show you the harsh reality which will make you weep.
Which pill will you take?
I hope it is the red one for humanities sake.

You have chosen well,
Now soon you will see what I could only before tell.
Brace yourself for the upcoming ride,
When you awake you will be on our side.

Welcome home my friend you are finally here,
Take a deep breath there is nothing to fear.
Come over this way and enjoy some stew,
For you are now one of the very few.

We're headed to Zion our last home,
There you will be free to roam.
You're able to do as you please,
Since this reality comes with no hidden fees.
