Rocks like Socks

Rocks like Socks

A Poem by Wolfwind
"

Insanity prevailing...surely!

"

Rocks like socks

Often come apart with over washing

Joshing, the thought

Over all or any what not

In a pot?

Will it rot?

Or is it taught?

Like a preacher, or a teacher

In dooms-days worry over Tuesdays

For certain there is a line

About a fine, or sugar, and maybe COFFEE!

Or was it toffee?

Sweet and stringy

Perhaps hyper and zingy

Colors making the rounds of a roller

A coaster?

A toaster?

A wild eyed Roaster!

Wow, that’s a pow

Of a mind

A rind that is

Green, not orange or red

With out it, the world…might be

Could be, should be?

Dead?

Oh no! All the listeners have fled!

Oh dread!

What are we to be fed?

A crazy med?

Crap

It’s a wrap.

Rock socks, I'm seeing somebody who stuck their feet into wet mud, that mud dried and they are stuck contemplating things like coffee and colour. I love cold coffee. Are we taught how to live, to breathe, to enjoy the finer things, or is just something that goes beyond teaching, and preaching and searching for things that are not lies?

This was fun to read! It reminded me of something I would read out of Where the Sidewalk ends by the Author Silverstein...minus the word "crap" lol. The imagination could go wild with a worthy illustration. Hats off to you...great penning!

Excellent rhyming!
I've read it in silence and read it again loud out loud, truly music to the ear!
A free verse but sounds like poetry with perfect meter pattern.
I enjoyed the piece very much!

Fun poem, with a lot of clever internal rhymes, has a kind of beat feeling, enigmatic and funny, good work.
