The Fifth StepA Poem by WolfwindThere will always be endings left with hope and faith that new directions do exist. One step, two steps The third step vanishes A fourth step taken Why not, all is forsaken What was once, is now only memory An echo filling the chill air Haunting these Northern Mountains
Perhaps a dream, perhaps a vision Failure upon life’s walk Anothers decision A wondering heart, banished Future’s rhyme Vanished A howl consumed by the fading Sun
A lonely soul, half full Sitting, pondering, wondering why A sky that had been so warm Now darkened, a winter’s chill embracing Memories buried in the snow The mourning, coming to rest Eyes focusing on what’s ahead
