The Sun's Anguish

The Sun's Anguish

A Poem by Wolfwind
"

An evolution of ink, a purging, in the hopes of remaining sane.

"

The sun shines bright through a sand worn windshield
Time's fingers begin to trace the day, minutes and hours
The world has woken, the pace quickens, the eyes gaze
Endlessly across the Eastern mountains, a would be dream

Moments of madness, cast adrift into the desert’s pulse

The chaos, a deeply woven tapestry of pain reverberates

Time becoming shadows of ill decadence and ignorance

Along highways best crossed, never driven and forgotten

Where rivers lush, flowing with honey, once danced above

Suspended their motion, a cessation of the sweet nectar, life

Strangling the mind, the heart beats slow, all actions ending

Shadows upon the spirit, the rhymes filling with aching grief

The trees of life, so full with lush growth, bent against fate

Broken now, laying down lifeless beside windswept sorrow

Consumed, scorched by the heat of passions driven mistakes

Blindingly, wind carrying dust and grit into a dark antiquity

Eyes cast a glance upon the shroud, an Eden hidden from time

Querying upon the Sun, reasons that never find the light. Why?

The dreams lost upon the lonely nights, the days into repetition

Memories holding tight, in a world that spins without insight

Wow! Great writing! This poem is amazing, but it is so difficult for me to decide why it appeals to me. Are you German. Your surname (lastname) sounded familiar to me so I looked it up and it means morning star in German.

Impressive writing. Its so full of raw emotion, full of wild beauty and so full of questions that one may never be able to answer. I love the imagery in this piece. You've penned a very powerful poem that was a joy to read.
