Herald the Rising Sun

Herald the Rising Sun

A Poem by Wolfwind

Scant a stitch of snow upon the grain

The sun still urging us up, up to daylights heavens

New beginnings, new hours, new light to breath

Reach out and touch it, feel the new day’s warmth

Glory to the rays that shine just so, full of jubilation

Glory to the Lord who made it all for us to witness, seeing life’s beauty

Glory to those rising with the Sun, to toil and work with content

Glory surely, chasing away a winters lament

Hark! And listen!

The symphony of the morning rings gallantly

Through the parting clouds and across snow capped peaks

Hear its crackle and rush, as ice does melt

For it is the sound of praise upon our land

The Lord has brought good health and bounty

Wherever his light does touch

Reading your poem and looking at that spectacular sun, I can hear the hiss of the snow as it melts away. I can hear the beauty of song as it plays within those softened breezes. I can feel the rays as they caress my skin reminding me of the life flowing through me. Touching such as that picture would be like stepping into a heaven one can only dream of. Lone Wolf, you have captured a beauty beyond this simple girls imagination and awoken the Lady who lay beneath.
This is a glorious poem and image you have given to us. Thank you :)

Beautiful imagery! I'm never up early enough to see the sun rise, but I feel like I have now. Wonderful piece

Beautiful write. Applying media to your poem undeniably lures the reader into a contemplation of the beauty within the picture to the superior beauty of your poem. Your use of imagery is unsurpassable.

I have a habit of watching the Sun rise. Though I cannot comment on the part where you describe the melting of ice and what that seems to be since I've never witnessed it in person, I must say, the feeling of being protected by the warm embrace of the Sun is what I am reminded of when I read through your lines. I like it.
